Description: We are coming to Kutná Hora by train, on the railway tract overlooking the Upper Pách River. We can admire the town's Gothic architecture, aw well as all the other historical sights (the Italian Court, gothic chapel, minting workshops, the Prague groshen of Wenceslas II, St. Barbara's Cathedral, St. James's Church, the Renaissance building of the former grammar school, the Arch deanery); the film is also presenting the town's emblem dated back to 1641, buildings located near the river Vrchlice and Hrádek. The film focuses mainly on St. Barbara's Cathedral and the former Jesuit's College. The film is also offering us a view of the Stone Fountain located in front of St. John of Nepomuk Church, the Stejškovský House, the plague column, Gothic tower and native houses of important personalities linked with the town of Kutná Hora - memorial plaques (Mikuláš Dačický of Heslov, Jan Erasim Vocel, Josef Kajetán Tyl, Josef Braun). Then we can see a pen-and-ink drawing of Kutná Hora dated back to 1600, a detail shot of miners´ tools and a picture from the Kutná Hora Hymn Book. The film also documents the former mining village of Kaňk with slag heaps, Sedlec u Kutné Hory with the monastery and the Church of Our Lady, gothic monstrance, interior of the ossuary and All Saints´ Chapel. At the end the film offers us a view of a pen-and-ink drawing of the Sedlec Monastery, a view of the town of Kutná Hora and Sedlec, and several static shots documenting the atmosphere of the town and its people.
